Stair Repairs at 7th Av Station

Zion Contracting served as the General Contractor for the rehabilitation of four entrances to the 7th Avenue Station in Brooklyn. Located on the corner of 7th Avenue and 9th Street in the Park Slope neighborhood, 7th Avenue Station is a key station on the New York City Subway’s IND Culver Line, serving the F and G trains. Known for its heavy foot traffic, the station provides critical access to residents and visitors in the area, connecting them to Manhattan and other parts of Brooklyn.

The project focused on extensive repairs to four stairways, improving both safety and aesthetic appeal for daily commuters. Scope of work included the reconstruction of concrete steps, installation of durable metal handrails, wall tiles, and K-1 railings for enhanced safety. Detailed carpentry work was carried out, along with the installation of new metal treads designed to withstand high levels of use. Additional upgrades included fresh signage, painting, and lead abatement to ensure the stairways met modern safety and environmental standards. Zion Contracting’s meticulous approach to this high-traffic station’s renovation has contributed to a more accessible, safe, and visually appealing entrance for thousands of daily riders.
