Small and diverse companies in the New York Metropolitan Area are gaining unprecedented access to transportation business opportunities from the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) Small Business Development Program

Governor Kathy Hochul today announced that the MTA’s nationally celebrated program to mentor local minority-owned, women-owned and disadvantaged businesses (MWBE) has helped participating companies win a total of $500 million in MTA contracts since the state’s program was founded in 2010.

Established in 2009, Zion Contracting is a general contractor that specializes in
public work. Owned and operated by Hely Duarte, Zion Contracting is a certified
Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) with NY City and State and a certified
Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE)
