Bus Washer Upgrade at Casey Stengel Bus depot
Zion Contracting served as the General Contractor for the complex installation of two advanced bus washing systems at the Casey Stengel Bus Depot. The primary objective of this project was to replace outdated washing equipment with state-of-the-art systems specifically designed to accommodate the new fleet of articulated buses, enhancing operational efficiency and maintenance capabilities.
The project required a full upgrade and integration of two bus washing units, entailing a comprehensive scope of work across multiple trades. Electrical work included extensive rewiring and upgrades to meet the power demands of the new systems. Plumbing systems were reconfigured to support high-capacity water usage and enhanced filtration required for environmentally responsible operation. Concrete work involved precision modifications to the wash bay floors and drainage areas, ensuring compatibility with the larger bus dimensions.
The project also included installation of an advanced communication and signaling interface to synchronize with the depot’s existing systems, ensuring seamless operation. Additional tasks involved lead abatement, careful painting of structural components, and compliance with all safety and environmental standards.
